47 Leavitt Street—also known as Lighthouse 47—is one of two buildings collectively referred to as The Lighthouses, newly constructed in 2023. It features 25 income-restricted homes and an active ground-floor commercial space that houses The Market by The Salem Food Pantry. Goods are sold at an affordable price or provided free of charge to community members. The building sits across the recently renovated Palmer Cove Park and some of the units feature ocean views. The project was financed using 9% State and Federal LIHTC.
